What is DR (disaster recovery) service?

Disaster recovery service is security planning that not only protects the customer's data from the effects of significant negative events which can include system failures or natural disasters such as fire, but also ensures business continuity to avoid system stoppages or data loss.

What is DR (disaster recovery) service?

Structure of DR (disaster recovery) service

In order to implement a disaster recovery plan (DRP), a balance between the costs and recovery point objective (RPO) / recovery time objective (RTO) is significant. The RPO is the maximum targeted period in which data might be lost from an IT system due to a major incident, and the RTO is the targeted duration of time and a service level within which a business process must be restored after a disaster (or disruption). The following figure describes the relation between the costs and solutions.

Structure of DR (disaster recovery) service

DR (disaster recovery) site is located in a data center that acts as dedicated backup site in order to provide recovery services. There are three types of backup sites, including cold sites, warm sites, and hot sites. The differences between the types are determined by the costs and effort required to implement each.
